Masterson’s Lounge, nestled in the bustling area of Moonee Ponds , advertises itself as a stylish, alternative venue , but my latest trip at this establishment resulted in an experience I’d rather forget . While the bar may seem appealing from the exterior , what I encountered behind its threshold was disgraceful and unfit for any venue.
The State of the Venue : Grimy and Neglected Beyond Belief
From the moment I walked in , it was clear that sanitation was not a priority at this venue. The floors were sticky , and a overpowering stench of decaying beverages and uncleaned toilets permeated the entire pub. Emitting a scent of a mixture of human waste, old age and a sickly smell. The serving zone , which should be the primary feature of any pub, was cluttered with dirty glasses and trash that looked like it had been ignored for a long time . The bathroom was in even more deplorable shape —overflowing , with a broken handle and walls covered in what I can only assume was human excrement .
